Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 August 2026
This policy explains what happens to the documents you upload to articlesummarizer.com, what other information we collect, and what you can ask us to do with it. The service is operated by NOVALEXA TECHNOLOGIES, Nicosia, Cyprus, which acts as the data controller.
Documents you upload
When you upload a file or submit a link, the content is sent to our processing servers and to the third-party AI providers we use to generate the summary. Uploaded content is processed only to produce the summary you requested and to answer the follow-up questions you ask about it in the chat.
We do not sell uploaded content, publish it, or use it to advertise to you. Content is retained only for as long as needed to provide the summary and the associated chat session.
Please do not upload documents containing sensitive personal data — medical records, government identification, financial account details or anything covered by a confidentiality obligation. The summarizer is a general-purpose tool and is not intended for that kind of material.
Information we collect
- A random identifier. When you first use the tool, your browser generates a random identifier and stores it in local storage. It is sent with your requests so that a summary can be matched to your chat session. It is not linked to your name, email address or any account, because the service has no accounts.
- File name and file content for documents you upload, or the URL you submit.
- Standard technical data that any web server receives, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your request.
- Analytics data collected through Google Tag Manager and the services loaded through it, which tell us which pages are visited and how the tool is used.
We do not ask you to register, and we do not process payment information — the tool is free and has no paid plan.
Cookies and local storage
We use local storage to keep the random identifier described above, so that your summary and chat stay connected between page loads. Google Tag Manager and the analytics tools it loads may set their own cookies. You can clear both at any time through your browser settings; the tool will simply generate a new identifier the next time you use it.
Who else processes your data
We share data only with the providers we need in order to run the service: the hosting provider that serves this website, the AI providers that generate summaries and chat responses, and Google for analytics. These providers act on our instructions and may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to its use. You can also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Because the service has no accounts, we usually cannot connect a request to a specific person on our own. To help us locate your data, include the random identifier from your browser's local storage in your request.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has uploaded personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top of the page always shows when it was last revised.
